The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By heaven and the night-star! 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 It is the shining star -- 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He was created of spurting water 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 And I (too) will make a scheme. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
