So We saved the children of Israel from degrading suffering 30 From Pharaoh. Indeed, he was a haughty one among the transgressors. 31 And We chose them aforetime above the nations, knowingly, 32 and bestowed upon them the Signs wherein lay an evident test for them. 33 As to these (Quraish), they say forsooth: 34 'There is nothing except the first death, we shall never be revived. 35 Bring then our fathers if ye say so. 36 Are they better than the people of Tubba' and those who came before them? We destroyed them, because they were guilty of sin. 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is in-between the twain sporting. 38 We did not create them save with a purpose, yet most people have no knowledge of this. 39 The appointed time for all of them will be the Day of Judgment 40 The day when friend will help no friend in the least, nor will they be helped, 41 Save those on whom Allah shall have mercy; surely He is the Mighty the Merciful. 42
