And indeed, We delivered the children of Israel from the shameful suffering 30 from Pharaoh, who ranked high in sin, 31 And We certainly chose them by knowledge over [all] the worlds. 32 and sent them revelations of which some were a clear trial for them. 33 Indeed these people say: 34 "There is not but our first death, and we will not be resurrected. 35 "Then bring back our fore-fathers, if you speak the truth!" 36 Are they better, or the people of Tubba? And those who were before them? We destroyed them; they were indeed criminals. 37 And We did not create the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, just for play. 38 We have created them for a genuine purpose, but most people do not know. 39 The Day of Judgement is your promised day of meeting, 40 A day when friend can in naught avail friend, nor can they be helped, 41 except those to whom Allah shows mercy. He is the Most Mighty, the Most Compassionate. 42
