The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 [And yet,] some say: "What! Are we indeed to be restored to our former state 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 and then he gathered [his great ones,] and called [unto his people,] 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
