Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By (the winds) that scatter dust. 1 by the clouds which are heavily loaded with water, 2 And (the ships) that float with ease and gentleness; 3 and distributing the command of God at His behest! 4 Verily that which ye are promised is true; 5 and the Judgement shall doubtlessly take place. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 Truly ye are in a doctrine discordant, 8 and are turned away from him who is turned. 9 Death to those whose opinions are merely baseless conjectures. 10 Those who have forgotten in a state of intoxication. 11 They ask, "When it will be the Day of Judgment?" 12 Upon the day when they shall be tried at the Fire: 13 "Taste ye your trial! This is what ye used to ask to be hastened!" 14 Surely the godfearing shall be among gardens and fountains 15 joyously receiving what their Lord will have granted them. Verily they did good works before (the coming of this Day): 16 Little of the night they were wont to slumber. 17 and at dawn would ask forgiveness, 18 And in their properties there was the right of the beggar, and the Mahrum (the poor who does not ask the others). 19 On the earth are signs for those of assured Faith, 20 and also in your own selves. Do you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and whatever you are promised. 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth it is sure, even as it is a fact that ye are speaking. 23
