Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the dipersing winds that disperse. 1 and the burden-bearers 2 then the easy runners (the ships); 3 And those [angels] apportioning [each] matter, 4 What you are threatened with is most surely true, 5 the Judgement will surely come to pass -- 6 By the heaven with its passages, 7 surely, you are in different sayings, 8 and perverted therefrom are some. 9 May the conjecturers perish, 10 Those who (flounder) heedless in a flood of confusion: 11 'When will the Day of Judgement be' they ask. 12 [It will be] a Day when they will be sorely tried by the fire, 13 [And will be told], "Taste your torment. This is that for which you were impatient." 14 Verily the God-fearing will be amid Gardens and water-springs. 15 enjoying all that their Sustainer will have granted them [because,] verily, they were doers of good in the past: 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 And in the dawns they prayed for forgiveness. 18 And in their properties there was the right of the beggar, and the Mahrum (the poor who does not ask the others). 19 For those with sure belief there are signs in the earth, 20 and in your selves; what, do you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your providence and that which ye are promised; 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth! it is most surely the truth, just as you do speak. 23
