Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By (the wind) those sent (as horses') mane (in succession), 1 storming tempestuously 2 by (the angels) spreading (the words of God) far and wide, 3 And the scattering winds scattering. 4 and then giving forth a reminder, 5 To excuse or to warn, 6 Indeed, what you are promised is to occur. 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 When the mountains are scattered (to the winds) as dust; 10 And when the time of the Noble Messengers arrives. 11 to what day shall they be deferred? 12 To the Day of Judgement. 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 15 Did We not destroy the ancient people 16 And We shall let them be followed by those of later times: 17 thus do We deal with the culprits. 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Did We not create you from a weak water, 20 that We laid within a sure lodging 21 For a known period (determined by gestation)? 22 We determined; excellent determiners are We. 23 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected the revelations of God! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle? 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 28 Walk on to that which you called a lie. 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 affording neither shade, nor protection from the flames, 31 and throwing up sparks as huge as towers 32 as black camels. 33 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 34 This is the Day they shall not speak, 35 nor will they be permitted to offer any excuses. 36 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 37 This is the Day of Judgement; We will have assembled you and the former peoples. 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 40
