Those who are mindful of their Lord will be rewarded with gardens of bliss. 34 Shall We then treat the People of Faith like the People of Sin? 35 What has come upon you that you judge in such a wise? 36 Or have you a Book in which you read 37 That indeed for you is whatever you choose? 38 Or do you have oaths [binding] upon Us, extending until the Day of Resurrection, that indeed for you is whatever you judge? 39 Ask them, which of them will guarantee that! 40 Or is it that they have partners in worship? So they should bring their appointed partners, if they are truthful. 41 Remember the Day whereon the shank shall be bared and they shall be called upon to Prostrate themselves, but they shall not be able. 42 Their eyes will be cast down, ignominy will cover them; they used to be called to prostrate (offer prayers), while they were healthy and good (in the life of the world, but they did not). 43 Leave Me (to deal) with those who give the lie to this pronouncement. We shall lead them on by steps from whence they know not. 44 Yet I bear with them, for lo! My scheme is firm. 45 (Muhammad), do you ask for your preaching any recompense which is too heavy a price for them to pay? 46 Or that the Unseen is in their hands, so that they can write it down? 47 Then be patient for the decision of your Lord, [O Muhammad], and be not like the companion of the fish when he called out while he was distressed. 48 Had it not been for a favour from his Lord he would have been cast blame-worthy on a barren plain. 49 And his Lord chose him and made him of the righteous. 50 When those who deny the truth hear the admonition, they would almost cause you to stumble with their evil eyes; and they say, "He is certainly mad." 51 [Be patient:] for this is nought else but a reminder [from God] to all mankind. 52
