The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed 9 And when the pages are made public 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 And the close of night, 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds: 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
