The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the Mount; 1 and the Book inscribed 2 on fine parchment; 3 And by oath of the Inhabited House. 4 And the roof exalted, 5 And [by] the sea filled [with fire], 6 The punishment of your Lord is certain to come. 7 and no one will be able to prevent it. 8 On the Day whereon the heaven will shake with an awful shaking. 9 And the mountains will move away with a (horrible) movement. 10 On that Day woe to those who belied 11 Who play in talk of grave matters; 12 the day when they shall be pitched into the fire of Gehenna: 13 (it will be said to them): 'This is the Fire which you belied! 14 "Is this then a fake, or is it ye that do not see? 15 Roast in it. Bear it with patience or impatience, it will be the same for you. You will be requited for what you had done." 16 Verily the God-fearing will be in Gardens and Delight. 17 Enjoying what their Lord has given them, and their Lord protected them from the punishment of Hellfire. 18 (To them will be said:) "Eat and drink ye, with profit and health, because of your (good) deeds." 19 Reclining on couches ranged. And We shall couple them with maidens wide eyed. 20 And those who believe and whose offspring follow them in Faith, to them shall We join their offspring, and We shall not decrease the reward of their deeds in anything. Every person is a pledge for that which he has earned. 21 And We shall increasingly give them fruit and meat such as they desire. 22 They shall there exchange, one with another, a (loving) cup free of frivolity, free of all taint of ill. 23 ۞ Round about them will serve, (devoted) to them, young male servants (handsome) as Pearls well-guarded. 24 They advance one upon another, asking each other questions. 25 saying, "We were afraid while in the world. 26 But Allah has been gracious to us and He has saved us from the punishment of the hot wind: 27 before this, we used to pray to Him. Surely, He is the Beneficent, the Merciful." 28
