The Stars (Al-Najm)
62 verses, revealed in Mecca after Absoluteness (Al-Ikhlaas) before He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the star when it goes down, (or vanishes). 1 your companion has neither strayed nor is he misguided, 2 nor does he speak out of his own desire. 3 It is a revelations which has been revealed to him 4 Taught to him by one intense in strength - 5 and endowed with wisdom; who in time manifested himself; 6 And reached the highest pinnacle. 7 Then he approached and descended 8 until he was two bow-lengths away or even closer 9 so (Allah) revealed to His worshiper (Gabriel) that which he revealed (to Prophet Muhammad). 10 His heart did not lie of what he saw. 11 What! So do you dispute with him regarding what he saw? 12 And indeed he did see the Spectacle again. 13 At the Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary - 14 Near it is the Paradise of Abode. 15 When that covered the lote-tree which covered it. 16 The eye did not turn aside, nor did it exceed the limit. 17 He saw some of the greatest signs of his Lord. 18 HAVE YOU, then, ever considered [what you are worshipping in] Al-Lat and Al-Uzza, 19 And Manat, the third, the last? 20 Is the male for you and for Him the female? 21 Behold, such would be indeed a division most unfair! 22 These are nothing but names that you and your forefathers have invented, for which Allah has sent down no authority. They are merely following their conjectures and their carnal desires although guidance has come to them from their Lord. 23 Nay, shall man have (just) anything he hankers after? 24 But it is to Allah that the End and the Beginning (of all things) belong. 25

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
