The Moon (Al-Qamar)
55 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Comet (Al-Taareq) before S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
The hour drew nigh and the moon was rent in twain. 1 And if they see a miracle, they turn away and say, "Passing magic." 2 They have belied, and follow their own fancies. But, every issue will be settled! 3 And surely there hath come unto them news whereof the purport should deter, 4 Wisdom consummate. But warnings avail not. 5 So turn away from them. When on the Day the crier calls to the painful business, 6 They will come out from the graves with eyes lowered, as if they were spread locusts. 7 running with outstretched necks to the Caller. The unbelievers shall say, 'This is a hard day!' 8 ۞ Before them the People of Noah rejected (their messenger): they rejected Our servant, and said, "Here is one possessed!", and he was driven out. 9 Thereupon he prayed unto his Lord: verily am overcome, so vindicate me. 10 Thereupon We opened the gates of the sky for water to pour down, 11 and caused the earth to gush with springs, so that the waters met for a predestined matter. 12 but him We bore on that [vessel] made of [mere] planks and nails, 13 Sailing under Our observation as reward for he who had been denied. 14 We have left it as a sign. Is there any that will remember? 15 And how severe is the suffering which I inflict when My warnings are disregarded! 16 And certainly We have made the Quran easy for remembrance, but is there anyone who will mind? 17 'Aad denied; and how [severe] were My punishment and warning. 18 And We sent against them a howling wind in a Day of continuous of ill fortune 19 it swept the people away as though they were palm-trunks uprooted: 20 How [dreadful] was My punishment and My warning! 21 And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember? 22

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
