Al-Furqaan 3 of 6
۞ But those who do not believe that they are destined to meet Us are wont to say: "Why have no angels been sent down to us?" - or, "Why do we not see our Sustainer?" Indeed, they are far too proud of themselves, having rebelled [against God's truth] with utter disdain! 21 On the day when they behold the angels, on that day there will be no good tidings for the guilty; and they will cry: A forbidding ban! 22 Then We shall advance upon the work which they have done and render it as scattered dust. 23 The dwellers of the garden shall on that day be in a better abiding-place and a better resting-place. 24 And [mention] the Day when the heaven will split open with [emerging] clouds, and the angels will be sent down in successive descent. 25 The real sovereignty will belong to Ar-Rahman. How grievous will be the day for the infidels! 26 On the Day when the wrong-doer shall gnaw his hands saying: would that I had taken with the apostle a way! 27 O woe is me! would that I had not taken such a one for a friend! 28 For it was he, who had deluded me to reject the Admonition which had come to me. Satan has proved very treacherous to man. " 29 And the Apostle cried out: O my Lord! surely my people have treated this Quran as a forsaken thing. 30 And even so We appointed unto every prophet an enemy from among the culprits. And thine Lord sufficeth as Guide and Helper. 31 Now they who are bent on denying the truth are wont to ask. "Why has not the Qur'an been bestowed on him from on high in one single revelation?" [it has been revealed] in this manner so that We might strengthen thy heart thereby - for We have so arranged its component parts that they form one consistent whole 32 Every time they raise an objection, We will bring you the truth and the best of explanations. 33 Those who will be gathered on their faces unto hell: such are worse in plight and further from the right road. 34
