The warnings came to the people of Pharaoh. 41 They, too, rejected all Our signs. So We seized them with the seizure of One Mighty, Omnipotent. 42 Are your disbelievers better than they were, or have you been given exemption in the Books? 43 Or do they say: “We are a strong legion, strong enough for victory?” 44 The hosts will all be routed and will turn and flee. 45 Nay, the hour is their promised time, and the hour shall be most grievous and bitter. 46 The evil-doers are victims of error and madness. 47 On the Day whereon they shall be dragged into the Fire upon their faces, it shall be said unto them: taste the touch of the Scorching. 48 We have created everything in a determined measure. 49 and Our ordaining [a thing and its coming into being] is but one [act,] like the twinkling of an eye. 50 We have indeed destroyed many a people like you. Is there anyone who would receive admonition? 51 All their deeds are in the Scrolls, 52 everything, be it great or small, is recorded. 53 Verily the God-fearing will be in Gardens and among rivers. 54 in a sure abode, in the presence of a King Omnipotent. 55
