3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
Noah had verily called to Us. And how gracious was He who answered (him). 75 And We saved him and his family from the great affliction. 76 And, his progeny, them We made the survivors (i.e. Shem, Ham and Japheth). 77 And left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 78 "Peace upon Noah among the worlds." 79 Thus do We surely reward the doers of good. 80 Surely he was of Our believing servants. 81 Thereafter We caused the others to be drowned. 82 ۞ Abraham was on the self-same way (as Noah). 83 Behold! he approached his Lord with a sound heart. 84 Recall what time he said unto his father and his people: What is it that ye worship? 85 Would you serve false deities instead of God? 86 What then is your opinion of the Lord of the Worlds? 87 And he glanced a glance at the stars 88 and said, "Verily, I am sick [at heart]!" 89 And they turned their backs on him and went away. (The pagans thought he would transmit the disease). 90 Thereupon he approached their gods stealthily and said, "What! You do not eat [of the offerings placed before you]? 91 "What is the matter with you that ye speak not (intelligently)?" 92 He struck them with his right hand. 93 Then they advanced toward him, hastening. 94 He said: 'Do you worship what you, yourselves have carved 95 "When God has created you and what you make?" 96 They replied: 'Build for him a building and cast him into the fire' 97 And they devised a plot for him, but We made them the humble. 98 He said, "I will go to my Lord: He is sure to guide me. 99 My Lord! Bestow on me a son who will be of the righteous. 100 And We gave him the glad tidings of a very gentle son (Ishmael). 101 When his son was old enough to work with him, he said, "My son, I have had a dream that I must sacrifice you. What do you think of this?" He replied, "Father, fulfill whatever you are commanded to do and you will find me patient, by the will of God". 102 So when they both submitted and he threw him down upon his forehead, 103 We cried out: “O Abraham, 104 Thou hast already fulfilled the vision. Lo! thus do We reward the good. 105 Most surely this is a manifest trial. 106 Then We ransomed him with a tremendous victim. 107 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 108 'Peace be upon Abraham' 109 Verily We! thus We compense the well-doers. 110 Surely he was one of Our believing servants. 111 Then, We gave him the glad tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous, 112 And We blessed him, and Isaac; and of their seed some are good-doers, and some manifest self-wrongers. 113
