The warnings came to the people of Pharaoh. 41 The (people) rejected all Our Signs; but We seized them with such Penalty (as comes) from One Exalted in Power, able to carry out His Will. 42 ARE, THEN, those of you who [now] deny the truth better than those others - or have you, perchance, [been promised] immunity in the [ancient] books of [divine] wisdom? 43 Or do they say: "We acting together can defend ourselves"? 44 Soon will their multitude be put to flight, and they will show their backs. 45 Nay, the Hour (of Judgment) is the time promised them (for their full recompense): And that Hour will be most grievous and most bitter. 46 for, behold, those who are lost in sin [will at that time come to know that it is they who] were sunk in error and folly! 47 The Day they will be dragged through the Fire on their faces, (they will hear:) "Taste ye the touch of Hell!" 48 Verily, We have created all things with Qadar (Divine Preordainments of all things before their creation, as written in the Book of Decrees Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz). 49 We command but once: Our will is done in the twinkling of an eye; 50 And indeed, We have destroyed your likes, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)? 51 Whatever they have done has been recorded in the Books (records of the deeds). 52 and everything, great and small, is inscribed. 53 Surely those who shun disobedience will dwell amidst Gardens and running streams 54 in the seat of truth with an all-powerful sovereign. 55
