The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Merciful 1 Bestowed the Qur'an, 2 He created man. 3 Has taught him the knowledge of the past and the future. 4 The sun and moon revolve to a computation; 5 The plants and trees prostrate before Him. 6 And the heaven, He raised it high, and He made the balance 7 That you not transgress within the balance. 8 And keep up the balance with equity and do not make the measure deficient. 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 Wherein are fruit and sheathed palm-trees, 11 Husked grain and scented herb. 12 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 13 He created man of clay like the potter's, 14 and He created the jinns from a flame of fire. 15 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, and Lord of the two Wests! 17 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 18 He hath let loose the two seas. 19 Between them is a barrier [so] neither of them transgresses. 20 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 21 Out of them both come out pearl and coral. 22 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 23 Also, His are the ships that run, raised up like mountains upon the sea. 24 Which of the favours of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 25
