The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Most Beneficent (Allah)! 1 has taught the Quran to (Muhammad). 2 He created the human being 3 and He has taught him the Explanation. 4 The sun and the moon follow courses (exactly) computed; 5 And the herbs and the trees - both (alike) prostrate in adoration. 6 And the heaven He has raised high, and He has set up the Balance. 7 That ye exceed not the measure, 8 And keep up the balance with equity and do not make the measure deficient. 9 And He appointed the earth for the creatures. 10 In which are fruits, and covered dates. 11 And grain having husks and scented plants. 12 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 13 He has created man out of sounding clay, like pottery, 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 16 [He is] the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunrise, and the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunset. 17 Which of the powers of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 18 He has set two seas in motion that flow side by side together, 19 Whereas there is a barrier between them so they cannot encroach upon one another. 20 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 21 Out of these two [bodies of water] come forth pearls, both great and small. 22 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 23 His are the high-sailed vessels in deep ocean like the mountains. 24 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 25
