Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ SAY: "It has been revealed to me that some of the unseen beings gave ear [to this divine writ,] and thereupon said [unto their fellow-beings]: "'Verily, we have heard a wondrous discourse, 1 Which guides to the right path; and we have come to believe in it, and will not associate any one with our Lord. 2 'And exalted be the Majesty of our Lord, He has taken neither a wife, nor a son (or offspring or children). 3 And the foolish among us were wont to forge lies against Allah exceedingly. 4 ‘Whereas we thought that men and jinns would never fabricate a lie against Allah!’ 5 And that persons from among men used to seek refuge with persons from among jinn, so they increased them in wrongdoing: 6 And that they thought as you think, that Allah would not raise anyone: 7 And that we sought to reach heaven, but we found it filled with strong guards and flaming stars. 8 And that we used to sit in some of the sitting-places thereof to steal a hearing, but he who would (try to) listen now would find a flame lying in wait for him: 9 We do not know whether by this arrangement God intends benefit and guidance for the people of the earth or only evil. 10 And some of us are the righteous, and some of us are otherwise; we are sects differing. 11 We knew that we could never challenge God whether we stayed on earth or fled elsewhere. 12 When we heard the guidance, we believed in it; and whosoever believes in his Lord, he shall fear neither paltriness nor vileness. 13 And among us are Muslims [in submission to Allah], and among us are the unjust. And whoever has become Muslim - those have sought out the right course. 14 And as for the deviators, for Hell they shall be fuel. 15 And proclaim (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “I have received the divine revelation that ‘Had they remained upright on the straight path, We would have given them abundant water.’ 16 so that We may test them by it -- whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord shall be sternly punished. 17 And the prostrations are for Allah; wherefore call not along with Allah anyone. 18 Do not prostrate before anyone other than Him. When the servant of God (Muhammad) preached (his message) the jinn would all crowd around him. 19
