The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Has there come on man a while of time when he was a thing unremembered? 1 Surely We have created man from a small life-germ uniting (itself): We mean to try him, so We have made him hearing, seeing. 2 Indeed, We have guided him to the path, he is either grateful or ungrateful. 3 Surely We have prepared for the unbelievers chains, fetters, and a Blaze. 4 Lo! the righteous shall drink of a cup whereof the mixture is of Kafur, 5 A spring wherefrom the slaves of Allah will drink, causing it to gush forth abundantly. 6 they who keep their vows and fear a Day whose evil is spread; 7 And feed the needy for the love of Him, and the orphans and the captives, 8 'We feed you only for the Face of God; we desire no recompense from you, no thankfulness; 9 We fear the dismal day calamitous from our Lord." 10 So God has guarded them from the evil of that day, and has procured them radiancy and gladness, 11 and recompense them for their patience with a Garden, and robes of silk. 12 Reclining therein upon couches, they shall behold therein neither sun nor hurting cold. 13 the shading branches of trees will come down low over them, and their clusters of fruit, will hang down where they are the easiest to reach. 14 and there shall be passed around them vessels of silver and goblets of crystal, 15 crystal-like, [but] of silver - the measure whereof they alone will determine. 16 And they will be given to drink there of a Cup (of Wine) mixed with Zanjabil,- 17 A spring there, called Salsabil. 18 ۞ And round about them will (serve) boys of everlasting youth. If you see them, you would think them scattered pearls. 19 Whitherto you look around, you will see an abundance of bliss and the glories of a great kingdom. 20 Their raiment will be fine green silk and gold embroidery. Bracelets of silver will they wear. Their Lord will slake their thirst with a pure drink. 21 "Verily this is a Reward for you, and your Endeavour is accepted and recognised." 22
