Al-Insan 2 of 2
It is We Who have sent down the Qur'an to thee by stages. 23 Therefore be patient (O Muhammad SAW) and submit to the Command of your Lord (Allah, by doing your duty to Him and by conveying His Message to mankind), and obey neither a sinner nor a disbeliever among them. 24 And celebrate the name of thy Lord morning and evening, 25 And during night, prostrate yourself to Him (i.e. the offering of Maghrib and 'Isha' prayers), and glorify Him a long night through (i.e. Tahajjud prayer). 26 As to these, they love the fleeting life, and put away behind them a Day (that will be) hard. 27 We created them and strengthened their joints; and whenever We wish, We can change their faces entirely. 28 Surely this is a reminder, so whoever pleases takes to his Lord a way. 29 But you cannot will it unless God wills [to show you that way]: for, behold, God is indeed all-seeing, wise. 30 He admits whosoever He will to His benevolence. But for the evil-doers He has prepared a painful punishment. 31

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
