The companions of the thicket denied the messengers 176 Recall, when Shuayb said to them: "Have you no fear? 177 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you; 178 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 179 And I ask of you no wage for it; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ Give full measure, and cause no loss to others. 181 weigh with an even balance 182 and do not deprive people of what is rightfully theirs; and do not act wickedly on earth by spreading corruption, 183 Have fear of the One who has created you and the generations that lived before you." 184 Said they: "Thou art but one of the bewitched, 185 for thou art nothing but a mortal like ourselves! And behold, we think that thou art a consummate liar! 186 But in case you are speaking the truth, then make a segment of the sky to fall upon us." 187 He said: 'My Lord knows what you are doing' 188 Then they belied him; wherefore there laid hold of them the torment of day of shadow. Verily it was the torment of a Mighty Day. 189 Verily in this was a sign, but most of them do not believe. 190 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 191
