Surely the people of al-Hijr also rejected the Messengers, calling them liars. 80 We showed them miracles but they ignored them. 81 And they were hewing out houses from mountains feeling secure. 82 But As-Saihah (torment - awful cry etc.) overtook them in the early morning (of the fourth day of their promised punishment days). 83 And that which they were wont to count as gain availed them not. 84 And We have not created the heavens and earth and that between them except in truth. And indeed, the Hour is coming; so forgive with gracious forgiveness. 85 Surely your Lord is the All Knowing Creator! 86 And We have certainly given you, [O Muhammad], seven of the often repeated [verses] and the great Qur'an. 87 Strain not thine eyes. (Wistfully) at what We have bestowed on certain classes of them, nor grieve over them: but lower thy wing (in gentleness) to the believers. 88 And say: "I am a distinct warner," 89 (Of just such wrath) as We sent down on those who divided (Scripture into arbitrary parts),- 90 and also divided the Quran believing in some parts and rejecting others. 91 Therefore, by the Lord, We will, of a surety, call them to account, 92 For that which they have been working. 93 Promulgate thou that which thou art commanded, and turn away from the associaters. 94 We will, surely, suffice you against those who mock, 95 Who set up along with Allah another ilah (god), they will come to know. 96 And assuredly We know that thou straitenest thy breast by that which they say. 97 But you should glorify your Lord with praises, and be among those who bow in submission; 98 And keep worshipping your Lord, till death* comes to you. (* The certainty.) 99
