The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 And those who undo the bonds gently, 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account). 5 On the Day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently (and everybody will die), 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 While eyes are downcast 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 even after we have been reduced to bones, hollow and rotten?” 11 They say: “That will then be a return with a great loss!” 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
