He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and then turned away 1 Because the blind man had come in his august presence. 2 But what could tell you that per chance he might become pure (from sins)? 3 Or take heed and so the reminder might avail him? 4 As for he who thinks himself without need, 5 to a rich man, 6 Though it is not your concern if he should not grow (in fulness). 7 But he who comes to you running, 8 and fearfully, 9 him didst thou disregard! 10 Nay, (do not do like this), indeed it (these Verses of this Quran) are an admonition, 11 So let him who pleases mind it. 12 (It is) in Records held (greatly) in honour (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz). 13 Exalted, purified, 14 In the hands of scribes (angels). 15 Honourable and obedient. 16 Woe to man! How ungrateful he is! 17 Of what substance God created him? 18 Out of a drop of sperm He creates him, and thereupon determines his nature, 19 Then made his passage easy (at birth); 20 Then He causeth him to die, and putteth him in his grave; 21 and then, whenever He wishes, He will raise him back to life. 22 But no. He has not fulfilled what was enjoined on him. 23 Then let man look to his food, 24 We send down abundant water, 25 and then We cleaved the earth asunder. 26 then caused the grain to grow out of it, 27 And grapes and herbage 28 And olive and palm trees 29 and burgeoning enclosed gardens 30 and fruits, and pastures, 31 for you and for your animals to enjoy. 32 But, when the Blast comes, 33 on that Day each person will flee from his brother, 34 and from his mother and father, 35 And his wife and his children, 36 for on that day everyone will be completely engrossed in his own concerns. 37 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 38 and be cheerful and joyous. 39 but some faces will be covered with dust 40 and overcast with gloom: 41 Those are the disbelievers, the wicked. 42
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
