The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Ruin is for the defrauders. (Those who measure less.) 1 Those who, when they take by measure from mankind, exact the full, 2 And who, when they measure unto them or weigh for them, diminish. 3 What! Do they not expect that they will be raised? 4 unto a mighty day 5 the Day when people will stand before the Lord of the Worlds? 6 No indeed, the Book of the immoral is in Sijjeen. 7 How will you comprehend what Sijjin is? 8 A written record. 9 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 10 those that give the lie to the Day of Recompense. 11 None denies it but the sinful transgressors. 12 When Our verses are recited to him, he says, "Legends of the former peoples." 13 By no means! but on their hearts is the stain of the (ill) which they do! 14 No indeed, on that Day they shall be veiled from their Lord. 15 Then lo! they verily will burn in hell, 16 Then it will be said [to them], "This is what you used to deny." 17 No indeed! Verily, the deeds of the virtuous shall be in the record of the exalted ones. 18 But how will you comprehend what 'Illiyun is? 19 A book inscribed, 20 Which is witnessed by those brought near [to Allah]. 21 Surely the pious shall be in bliss, 22 On thrones, they shall gaze; 23 You will find in their faces the brightness of bliss. 24 as they are given to drink of a wine sealed 25 The last thereof (that wine) will be the smell of musk, and for this let (all) those strive who want to strive (i.e. hasten earnestly to the obedience of Allah). 26 Blended with the water of Tasnim, (heights ultimate of evolution), 27 a fountain at which the chosen ones shall drink. 28 Surely they who are guilty used to laugh at those who believe. 29 And whenever they passed by them, used to wink one to another (in mockery); 30 and whenever they return to people of their own kind, they return full of jests; 31 And when they saw them, they said: "They have indeed gone astray." 32 Whereas they have not at all been sent as guardians over them. 33 So, the believers will laugh at the infidels on that day, 34 Regarding them from their cushioned seats. 35 Will not the Unbelievers have been paid back for what they did? 36
