The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ WHEN THE SKY is cleft asunder, 1 in obedience to the commands of their Lord which are incumbent on them, 2 When the earth is stretched out taut 3 And shall cast forth that which is therein, and shall become empty. 4 and obeys its Lord as it must, 5 O man! surely you must strive (to attain) to your Lord, a hard striving until you meet Him. 6 And as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 And return to his people in happiness. 9 But whosoever is given his Record behind his back, 10 shall cry for “perdition,” 11 And he will enter a Blazing Fire. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 This is a fact. Their Lord is Well-Aware of (all that they do). 15 No! I swear by the twilight 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 And by the moon when it is at the full, 18 You will surely go up level by level. 19 What aileth them, then, that they believe not 20 And when the Quran is recited to them they do not make obeisance? ۩ 21 In fact the unbelievers disavow. 22 And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves. 23 Therefore, give them the news of a painful punishment. 24 unless it be such [of them] as [repent, and] attain to faith, and do good works; for theirs shall be a reward unending! 25
