Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the sky, and by the nightly comer! 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 The piercing star! 3 There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds). 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 Created from a gushing fluid. 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 on the Day when consciences are examined, 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 By the Firmament which returns (in its round), 11 by earth splitting with verdure, 12 That this is a decisive word 13 And no trifle. 14 They are devising guile, 15 and so am I: 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
