The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the night as it envelops; 1 and by the day as it appears radiantly, 2 And by Who created the male and female, 3 Your striving is most surely (directed to) various (ends). 4 Yet he who gives to others and has fear, 5 And testifieth to the Good, 6 We shall facilitate for him the Way to Bliss. 7 But as for one who is miserly and unheeding, 8 and rejects what is right, 9 We will make smooth for him the path for evil; 10 And what will his wealth avail him when he falls? 11 Verify on us is the guidance 12 and to Us belong the Last and the First. 13 I have now warned you of the Blazing Fire, 14 whereat none but the most wretched shall be roasted, 15 Who denies and turns away. 16 But the righteous one will avoid it - 17 He who spends his wealth for increase in self-purification, 18 And who hath no favour from anyone to recompense. 19 acting only for the sake of his Lord the Most High -- 20 Will surely be gratified. 21
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
