The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
I swear by the early hours of the day, 1 By the night when it darkeneth, 2 Thy Lord hath not forsaken thee, nor is He displeased. 3 What is to come is better for you than what has gone before; 4 And indeed, in time will thy Sustainer grant thee [what thy heart desires,] and thou shalt be well-pleased. 5 Did He not find you an orphan and give [you] refuge? 6 Did He not find thee erring, and guide thee? 7 And find you in want and make you to be free from want? 8 So do not oppress the orphan, 9 And do not drive the beggar away, 10 And keep recounting the favours of your Lord. 11
True are the words of God the Almighty.
