The Embryo (Al-Alaq)

In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Read! In the name of your Lord, who created: 1 Created man from an embryo; 2 Read - for thy Sustainer is the Most Bountiful One 3 Who taught by the pen, 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 Nay, but man doth transgress all bounds, 6 As he considers himself independent! 7 Surely your returning is to your Lord. 8 Have you seen the one who prohibits 9 A votary when he turns to his devotions? 10 Have you seen if he was upon guidance 11 and enjoins piety? 12 Hast thou seen if he denieth (Allah's guidance) and is froward? 13 Does he not know that God observes all things? 14 Nay! If he (Abu Jahl) ceases not, We will catch him by the forelock, 15 his lying, sinful forelock. 16 Then, let him call his assembly, 17 We shall summon the guards of Hell. 18 No, indeed; do not obey him! Prostrate and come nearer (to Allah). ۩ 19
