The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Recite thou in the name of thy Lord Who hath created 1 He created man from a clot of blood. 2 Recite: and your Lord is Most Generous, 3 Who has taught (the writing) by the pen [the first person to write was Prophet Idrees (Enoch)]. 4 Taught man what he did not know. 5 And yet, but yet man is rebellious, 6 for he believes himself to be self-sufficient. 7 Surely to your Lord is your return. 8 Did you see him who forbids 9 a servant [of God] from praying? 10 What will happen if the praying person is rightly guided 11 Or enjoineth piety? 12 Do you see how he has denied the truth and turned away from it? 13 Does he not know that Allah does see? 14 By no means! If he desist not We shall seize and deal him by the forelock 15 A forelock, lying, sinning. 16 So let him call on his concourse! 17 We will call on the angels of punishment (to deal with him)! 18 Nay, Obey not thou him. But prostrate thyself, and draw near (unto Allah). ۩ 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
