Thorns (Al-Masad)
5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
May the hands of Abu Lahab perish! May he too perish! 1 His wealth and what he earns will not avail him. 2 He will be plunged in flaming Fire, 3 and so too will his wife who (threw thorns and firewood in the Prophet's way). 4 Will have a strap of fibre rope around her neck. 5
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
