O believers, obey God and His Messenger, and do not turn away from him when you hear (him speak); 20 Do not be like those who said that they have heard (the Messenger's commands) but do not pay any attention to them. 21 ۞ The worst of creatures in the eyes of God are those who are deaf and dumb and devoid of sense. 22 And if Allah had known any good in them He would have made them hear, and if He makes them hear they would turn back while they withdraw. 23 O People who Believe! Present yourselves upon the command of Allah and His Noble Messenger, when the Noble Messenger calls you towards the matter that will bestow you life; and know that the command of Allah becomes a barrier between a man and his heart’s intentions, and that you will all be raised towards Him. 24 And be cautious against a sedition that will not smite the harmdoers alone. Know that the punishment of Allah is Stern. 25 Remember, when you were few and powerless in the land, afraid of despoliation at the hands of men. But then God sheltered and helped you to strength, and provided for you good things that you may perhaps be grateful. 26 Believers, do not betray Allah and the Messenger, nor knowingly betray your trust. 27 Know that your children and your wealth are but a temptation, and that the reward with Allah is great. 28
