And when the messengers came unto the family of Lot, 61 He said: "Ye appear to be uncommon folk." 62 They replied, "We have come to you about the matter which the (unbelievers) have rejected. 63 “And we have brought to you a true command, and indeed we are truthful.” 64 So set out with your family in a watch of the night, and keep yourself behind them, and no one of you may turn around, and keep going ahead as you have been commanded." 65 And [through Our messengers] We revealed unto him this decree: "The last remnant of those [sinners] shall be wiped out in the morn." 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. 67 [Lot] said, "Indeed, these are my guests, so do not shame me. 68 “And fear Allah and do not disgrace me.” 69 They said, "Have we not forbidden you from [protecting] people?" 70 He said, “These women of our tribe are my daughters, if you have to.” 71 By your life O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) – they are indeed straying in their intoxication. 72 Then the mighty Blast caught them at sunrise, 73 And We made the upside there of downwards, and We rained on them stones of baked clay. 74 Herein are really signs for those who discern. 75 And verily they are on a pathway lasting. 76 In this there is evidence (of the Truth) for the believers. 77 And the dwellers of the wood surely were wrong-doers. 78 So, We took vengeance on them. They are both on an open highway, plain to see. 79
