He said: my Lord! expand for me my breast. 25 “And make my task easy for me.” 26 and loosen the knot from my tongue 27 that they may understand my words. 28 And give me as assistant from my family 29 “That is Haroon, my brother.” 30 Strengthen my back by him, 31 "And make him share my task: 32 that we may abundantly extol Your glory; 33 and remember You much: 34 Lo! Thou art ever Seeing us. 35 He said: You are indeed granted your petition, O Musa 36 And We had already conferred favor upon you another time, 37 when We revealed Our will to your mother, saying, 38 Saying: Throw him into the ark, and throw it into the river, then the river shall throw it on to the bank, and there an enemy to Me and an enemy to him shall take him. And I endued thee with love from Me that thou mightest be trained according to My will, 39 "When your sister went and said: 'Shall I show you one who will nurse him?' So We restored you to your mother, that she might cool her eyes and she should not grieve. Then you did kill a man, but We saved you from great distress and tried you with a heavy trial. Then you stayed a number of years with the people of Madyan (Midian). Then you came here according to the fixed term which I ordained (for you), O Musa (Moses)! 40 “And I created you especially for Myself.” 41 Go you and your brother with My communications and be not remiss in remembering Me; 42 Go both to Firon, surely he has become inordinate; 43 Both of you must speak with him in a gentle manner so that perhaps he may come to himself or have fear (of God)." 44 They both said, "Our Lord, We fear that he may commit some excess against us, or exceed all bounds in transgression." 45 He said, “Do not fear – I am with you, All Hearing and All Seeing.” 46 "So go ye both to him, and say, 'Verily we are messengers sent by thy Lord: Send forth, therefore, the Children of Israel with us, and afflict them not: with a Sign, indeed, have we come from thy Lord! and peace to all who follow guidance! 47 It has been revealed to us that chastisement shall light upon him who cries lies and turns his back." 48 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "Who then, O Musa (Moses), is the Lord of you two?" 49 (Moses) said: "Our Lord is He who gave everything its natural form and directed it." 50 He said: then what happened to the former generations? 51 [Moses] answered: "Knowledge thereof rests with my Sustainer [alone, and is laid down] in His decree; my Sustainer does not err, and neither does He forget." 52 HE IT IS who has made the earth a cradle for you, and has traced out for you ways [of livelihood] thereon, and [who] sends down waters from the sky: and by this means We bring forth various kinds of plants. 53 Eat and pasture your cattle; most surely there are signs in this for those endowed with understanding. 54
