Before him Noah cried out to Us, and We heard his prayer. We saved him and all his household from a great distress. 76 And We succoured him against the people who belied Our signs; verily they were a people evil, so we drowned them all. 77 And Dawood and Sulaiman when they gave judgment concerning the field when the people's sheep pastured therein by night, and We were bearers of witness to their judgment. 78 We guided Solomon to the right verdict, and We had granted each of them judgement and knowledge. We made the mountains and the birds celebrate the praise of Allah with David. It was We Who did all this. 79 And We taught him how to make garments [of God-consciousness] for you, [O men,] so that they might fortify you against all that may cause you fear: but are you grateful [for this boon]? 80 (It was Our power that made) the violent (unruly) wind flow (tamely) for Solomon, to his order, to the land which We had blessed: for We do know all things. 81 And among the devils, were those who dived (in water) for him and did works other than this; and We had kept them restrained. 82 ۞ And Ayub, when he cried to his Lord, (saying): Harm has afflicted me, and Thou art the most Merciful of the merciful. 83 So We answered him and We removed that which was with him of the hurt, and We vouchsafed unto him his household and the like thereof along with them, as a mercy from Us and a remembrance unto the worshippers. 84 And Ismail and Idris and Zulkifl; all were of the patient ones; 85 And We admitted them into Our mercy; indeed they are among those who deserve Our proximity. 86 And (mention) Dhu'n-Nun, when he went off in anger and deemed that We had no power over him, but he cried out in the darkness, saying: There is no Allah save Thee. Be Thou Glorified! Lo! I have been a wrong-doer. 87 So We answered his call, and delivered him from the distress. And thus We do deliver the believers (who believe in the Oneness of Allah, abstain from evil and work righteousness). 88 And remember Zakaria, when he prayed to his Lord, “O my Lord – do not leave me alone, and You are the Best Inheritor. 89 So We answered his call, and We bestowed upon him Yahya (John), and cured his wife (to bear a child) for him. Verily, they used to hasten on to do good deeds, and they used to call on Us with hope and fear, and used to humble themselves before Us. 90 AND [remember] her who guarded her chastity, whereupon We breathed into her of Our spirit and caused her, together with her son, to become a symbol [of Our grace] unto all people. 91 Indeed this religion of yours, is one religion; and I am your Lord, therefore worship Me. 92 But they (the Christians and Jews) split their affair between them all shall return to Us. 93
