The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers; 1 Those who humble themselves in their prayers; 2 and from idle talk turn away 3 And who are givers of poor-rate, 4 And who guard their private parts, 5 Except before their mates or those whom their right hands possess, for they surely are not blameable, 6 But whoso craveth beyond that, such are transgressors - 7 who are true to their trusts and their covenants, 8 and who observe their prayers. 9 They are the inheritors. 10 Who will inherit Paradise, and live in it for ever. 11 We created man of an extraction of clay, 12 then We made him into a drop of life-germ, then We placed it in a safe depository, 13 then We developed that drop into a clinging form, and We developed that form into a lump of flesh, and We developed that lump into bones, and clothed the bones with flesh. Then We brought him into being as a new creation, glory be to God, the best of creators, 14 Then after that, certainly all of you are to die. 15 Then you will be raised up again on the Resurrection Day. 16 And assuredly We created above you seven paths, and of the creation We have not been neglectful. 17 And We send down water from the sky according to (due) measure, and We cause it to soak in the soil; and We certainly are able to drain it off (with ease). 18 Then We brought forth for you therewith gardens of date-palms and grapes, wherein is much fruit for you, and whereof you eat. 19 We have also created for you the tree that grows on Mount Sinai which produces oil and relish for those who use it. 20 There are lessons for you in the cattle from whose bellies We give you milk to drink, and there are other advantages that you derive from them, and some of them you eat; 21 And on them, and on ships you are carried. 22
