The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers, 1 Those who humbly cry in their prayers. 2 and who turn away from all that is frivolous, 3 who give charity, 4 And who guard their private organs. 5 Except with those joined to them in the marriage bond, or (the captives) whom their right hands possess,- for (in their case) they are free from blame, 6 As for those who seek beyond that, they are transgressors" 7 those who are faithful to their trusts and promises; 8 And those who are watchful of their acts of prayer. 9 These will be the heirs, 10 who will inherit Paradise; they shall live there for ever. 11 And assuredly We created man of an extract of clay. 12 and then We cause him to remain as a drop of sperm in [the wombs] firm keeping, 13 Then We made the sperm-drop into a clinging clot, and We made the clot into a lump [of flesh], and We made [from] the lump, bones, and We covered the bones with flesh; then We developed him into another creation. So blessed is Allah, the best of creators. 14 Then after that you shall surely die, 15 and be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection. 16 We have created seven heavens above you and have never been neglectful to Our Creation. 17 And We send down water from the sky according to (due) measure, and We cause it to soak in the soil; and We certainly are able to drain it off (with ease). 18 And by means of this [water] We bring forth for you gardens of date-palms and vines, wherein you have fruit abundant and whereof you eat, 19 And a tree (olive) that springs forth from Mount Sinai, that grows oil, and (it is a) relish for the eaters. 20 And lo! in the cattle there is verily a lesson for you. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and many uses have ye in them, and of them do ye eat; 21 And on them and on the ships you are borne. 22
