O YOU APOSTLES! Partake of the good things of life, and do righteous deeds: verily, I have full knowledge of all that you do. 51 And lo! this your religion is one religion and I am your Lord, so keep your duty unto Me. 52 But the people divided their religion among them into sects - each faction, in what it has, rejoicing. 53 So leave them in their intoxication till a time. 54 Do they think that by increasing their wealth and children 55 We hasten unto them with good things? Nay, but they perceive not. 56 Verily those who live in awe for fear of their Lord; 57 who have full faith in the Signs of their Lord; 58 and do not ascribe partners to Him; 59 Who give whatsoever they give (in His way), and their hearts tremble with fear that they have to go back to their Lord, 60 it is they who vie with one another in doing good works, and it is they who outrun [all others] in attaining to them! 61 And [withal.] We do not burden any human being with more than he is well able to bear: for with Us is a record that speaks the truth [about what men do and can do]; and none shall be wronged. 62 Nay, but their hearts are in ignorance of this (Qur'an), and they have other works, besides, which they are doing; 63 until We seize with Our chastisement those of them that are given to luxuriant ways. They will then begin to groan. 64 (It will be said): "Groan not in supplication this day: for ye shall certainly not be helped by Us. 65 My signs were recited to you, but upon your heels you withdrew, 66 and arrogantly mocked and reviled them. 67 Is it then that they do not ponder over what is said, or is it that there has come to them that which did not come to their fathers of old? 68 Or did they not know their Messenger, so they are toward him disacknowledging? 69 Or do they say: "There is madness in him"? Nay, he has brought them the truth - and the truth do most of them detest! 70 If the Truth had been in accord with their desires, truly the heavens and the earth, and all beings therein would have been in confusion and corruption! Nay, We have sent them their admonition, but they turn away from their admonition. 71 Or are you asking them for any reward? But the reward of your Lord is the best, for He is the Best of Providers, 72 And most surely you invite them to a right way. 73 but, behold, those who will not believe in the life to come are bound to deviate from that way. 74 ۞ Were We to be merciful to them and remove from them their present afflictions, they would persist in their transgression, blindly wandering on. 75 And We had gripped them with suffering [as a warning], but they did not yield to their Lord, nor did they humbly supplicate, [and will continue thus] 76 To the extent that when We opened the gate of a severe punishment for them, they thereupon lie despairingly in it. 77
