The people of Lot accused the messengers of lies. 160 When their brother Lot said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 161 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 162 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 163 And I ask of you no hire therefor; my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 164 What! do you come to the males from among the creatures 165 "And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your wives? Nay, you are a trespassing people!" 166 They said, "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will surely be of those evicted." 167 He said, "I am one of those who abhors your ways. 168 "My Lord! Save me and my family from what they do." 169 So We saved him and his household, every one, 170 Except one old woman who remained behind. 171 Then We destroyed the rest of them, 172 and rained down upon them a rain [of destruction]: and dire is such rain upon all who let themselves be warned [to no avail]! 173 Surely, in that there is a sign. Yet most of them do not believe. 174 your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 175
