The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the rangers ranging 1 by those who reprove severely, 2 By those (angels) who bring the Book and the Quran from Allah to mankind [Tafsir Ibn Kathir]. 3 Verily, most surely, your God is One 4 Lord of the heavens and the earth and that between them and Lord of the sunrises. 5 We have decked the lower heavens with stars 6 and have made them secure against every rebellious, satanic force, 7 They cannot listen to the higher group (angels) for they are pelted from every side. 8 Outcast, and theirs is a constant (or painful) torment. 9 Save him who snatcheth a fragment, and there pursueth him a piercing flame. 10 So, ask those who deny the truth if it was harder to create them than all the other things We have created? We created them from sticky clay. 11 You marvel (at the wondrous creations of Allah) and they scoff at it, 12 and, when reminded, do not remember 13 When they see a sign, they laugh at it, 14 and say: "This is clearly nothing but [a mortal's] spellbinding eloquence! 15 What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we be resurrected. 16 And our fathers too?" 17 Say, "Yes, and you will be [rendered] contemptible." 18 There will be but a single blast and then their eyes will open. 19 and will say: "Oh, woe unto us! This is the Day of Judgment!" 20 "(Yes,) this is the Day of Judgement you had called a lie." 21
