۞ But We shall say, "Assemble those who did wrong together with their associates and what they worshipped 22 instead of God, and lead them all onto the way to the blazing fire, 23 Stop them. They must be questioned." 24 'Why do you not help one another? 25 Nay! on that Day they will be entirely submissive. 26 They will turn upon one another, and question one another. 27 They will say, "You used to come at us from the right." 28 They will say: "No, you were the ones who would not believe. 29 We had no power over you. You were a rebellious people, 30 The sentence of our Lord has come true for us. We have certainly to taste (the punishment), 31 Therefore we perverted you, and we ourselves were perverts.' 32 So this day they all are partners in the punishment. 33 That is how We deal with sinners. 34 For they, when they were told that there is no god except Allah, would puff themselves up with Pride, 35 And they said: are we going to abandon our gods on account of a poet distracted? 36 "Surely, he has brought the truth, confirming those who were sent before; 37 you shall surely taste the painful punishment, 38 And you will not be recompensed except for what you used to do - 39 But the chosen servants of God; 40 For them is a known sustenance, 41 and fruits while they are honored. 42 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise), 43 On couches, facing one another. 44 They will be served with a cup full of crystal clear wine, 45 delicious to those who drink it 46 no headiness will be in it, and they will not get drunk thereon. 47 And with them are those of modest gaze, with lovely eyes, 48 as if they were hidden pearls. 49 And they will all turn to one another, asking each other [about their past lives]. 50 The speaker among them said, “I had a companion.” – 51 Who would say, 'Are you indeed of those who believe 52 ‘That when we are dead and have turned into dust and bones, that we will either be rewarded or punished?’ 53 Do you want to see him?' " 54 He looked down and saw him in the midst of the Fire. 55 He will say, "By Allah, you almost ruined me. 56 for had it not been for my Sustainer's favour, I would surely be [now] among those who are given over [to suffering]! 57 (Another will say:)"Is it true, we are not going to die 58 and that we would not be punished?" 59 Verily this is the supreme achievement! 60 For such a reward should the workers perform. 61 Is this a better hospitality or the tree of al-Zaqqum? 62 For We have truly made it (as) a trial for the wrong-doers. 63 Verily, it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hell-fire, 64 Its emerging fruit as if it was heads of the devils. 65 Truly, they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 then on top of it they have a brew of boiling water, 67 And thereafter verily their return is unto the Flaming Fire. 68 They found their fathers had gone astray; 69 and they are running in their footsteps. 70 And certainly most of the ancients went astray before them, 71 But We sent aforetime, among them, (messengers) to admonish them;- 72 Then see what was the end of those who were warned (but heeded not). 73 EXCEPT for God's true servants, [most people are apt to go astray.] 74
