Noah called to Us, and We are the Best to answer. 75 And We rescued him and his household from the great calamity. 76 and caused his offspring to endure [on earth]; 77 and We left him thus to be remembered among later generations: 78 'Peace be upon Noah among all the worlds' 79 As such We recompense the gooddoers, 80 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 81 We drowned all the others (besides Noah and his people). 82 ۞ And Abraham indeed was of his inducement, 83 When he came unto his Lord with a whole heart; 84 and [thus] spoke to his father and his people: "What is it that you worship? 85 "Is it a falsehood- gods other than Allah- that ye desire? 86 Then what is your thought about the Lord of the worlds?" 87 Then he looked up at the stars (they worshipped), 88 He then said, “I feel sick (of you)!” 89 So turning their backs, they went away from him. 90 Then did he turn to their gods and said, "will ye not eat (of the offerings before you)?... 91 What aileth ye that ye speak not? 92 Then he attacked them, striking with his right hand. 93 So they (people) advanced towards him, hastening. 94 He said: "Worship ye that which ye have (yourselves) carved? 95 "But Allah has created you and your handwork!" 96 They replied: 'Build for him a building and cast him into the fire' 97 They desired to outwit him; so We made them the lower ones. 98 He said: "I will go to my Lord! He will surely guide me! 99 "My Lord! Grant me (offspring) from the righteous." 100 We therefore gave him the glad tidings of an intelligent son. 101 When his son was old enough to work with him, he said, "My son, I have had a dream that I must sacrifice you. What do you think of this?" He replied, "Father, fulfill whatever you are commanded to do and you will find me patient, by the will of God". 102 Then, when they had both submitted themselves (to the Will of Allah), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (or on the side of his forehead for slaughtering); 103 We called out to him, "Abraham, 104 “You have indeed made the dream come true”; and this is how We reward the virtuous. 105 Lo! that verily was a clear test. 106 And We ransomed him with a Feat sacrifice. 107 and We let it (the beautiful praise) remain upon him in the latter (generations), 108 "Peace upon Abraham." 109 As such We recompense the gooddoers. 110 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Is-haq, a prophet, and of the righteous. 112 and blessed him and Isaac too: some of their offspring were good, but some clearly sinned against their souls. 113

(1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. (3) وقف جائز مع تساوي أولوية الوقف والوصل، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال النصف للنصف. (4) وقف جائز مع الوصل أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلث. (5) وقف المجاذبة أو المعانقة حيث يجب الوقف في أي من موضعين قريبين ولكن ليس كلاهما، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة تظهر في أحد الموقعين باحتمال النصف للنصف.
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
