3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
Noah had verily called to Us. And how gracious was He who answered (him). 75 And We delivered him and his people from the great distress, 76 and caused his offspring to endure [on earth]; 77 We perpetuated his praise in later generations. 78 "Peace be upon Noah throughout all the worlds!" 79 This is how We reward the virtuous. 80 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 81 Then We drowned the others. 82 ۞ And lo! of his persuasion verily was Abraham 83 When he came to his Lord with a heart compliant, 84 and when he said to his father and to his nation: 'What do you worship? 85 Do you want [to bow down before] a lie - [before] deities other than God? 86 What is then your idea about the Lord of the worlds? 87 Then he looked up at the stars (they worshipped), 88 and said, "I am sick!" 89 And they turned their backs and went away from him. 90 He then sneaked upon their deities and said, “Do you not eat?” 91 What is the matter with you, that you do not speak' 92 And he turned upon them smiting them with his right hand. 93 And (his people) came toward him, hastening. 94 He said: worship ye that which ye carve. 95 when it is Allah who created you and all that you do' 96 They exclaimed: "Build a pyre for him, and cast him into the blazing fire!" 97 And they designed a snare for him, but We made them the undermost. 98 And he said: Surely I fly to my lord; He will guide me. 99 Lord, grant me a righteous son.” 100 (In response to this prayer) We gave him the good news of a prudent boy; 101 And when he reached the age of traveling with him, he said: 'My son, while I was sleeping I saw that I shall slaughter (sacrifice) you, tell me what is your opinion' He replied: 'Father, do as you are ordered (by Allah). Allah willing, you shall find me one of those who are steadfast' 102 But as soon as the two had surrendered themselves to [what they thought to be] the will of God, and [Abraham] had laid him down on his face, 103 We called to him, "Abraham, 104 Thou hast already fulfilled the vision. Lo! thus do We reward the good. 105 Most surely this is a manifest trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice, 107 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 108 Peace be on Abraham. 109 Thus indeed do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 110 He is truly among Our faithful creatures. 111 We gave Abraham the good news of Isaac, a prophet and a righteous man, 112 We had blessed him and Isaac. Some of their offspring were righteous and others were openly unjust to themselves. 113
