Noah called to Us, and We are the Best to answer. 75 We saved him and his family from the great affliction, 76 And We preserved his descendants. 77 And We left (this blessing) for him among generations to come in later times: 78 "Peace and salutation to Noah among the nations!" 79 That is how We reward those who do good. 80 For he was one of our believing Servants. 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ Of his party was Abraham. 83 when he turned to his Sustainer with a heart free of evil, 84 When he said to his father and to his people: "What is it that which you worship? 85 Is it falsehood [as] gods other than Allah you desire? 86 What, then, do you think of the Sustainer of all the worlds?" 87 And he cast a look at the stars 88 And he said, "I am indeed sick (at heart)!" 89 So they went away from him, turning back. 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said, 'What do you eat? 91 What is the matter with you, that you do not speak' 92 And he turned upon them striking them with the right hand. 93 Then they advanced toward him, hastening. 94 He said: "Worship ye that which ye have (yourselves) carved? 95 even though God created both you and that which you have made?" 96 They said, "Build him a furnace, and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 So they tried to execute their evil scheme upon him – We therefore degraded them. (Allah saved him, by commanding the fire to turn cool). 98 He said: "I will go to my Lord! He will surely guide me! 99 My Lord, grant me [a child] from among the righteous." 100 And We gave him the glad tidings of a very gentle son (Ishmael). 101 And when (his son) was old enough to walk with him, (Abraham) said: O my dear son, I have seen in a dream that I must sacrifice thee. So look, what thinkest thou? He said: O my father! Do that which thou art commanded. Allah willing, thou shalt find me of the steadfast. 102 So when they had both submitted their wills (to Allah), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (for sacrifice), 103 We called to him, "O Abraham, 104 thou hast already fulfilled [the purpose of] that dream-vision!" Thus, verily, do We reward the doers of good: 105 Indeed this was a clear test. 106 So, We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 And We left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 108 Peace be with Abraham. 109 Thus do We reward the good-doers. 110 Verily he was one of Our believing bondmen. 111 Then, We gave him the glad tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous, 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. But among their descendants is the doer of good and the clearly unjust to himself. 113
