We also bestowed Our favour on Moses and Aaron: 114 And We delivered them both and their people from the mighty distress. 115 and succoured them, so that [in the end] it was they who achieved victory. 116 We granted them a Clear Book, 117 and guided them in the straight path, 118 and perpetuated their praise in later generations. 119 "Peace and salutation to Moses and Aaron!" 120 Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 121 Surely both of them were among Our believing servants. 122 Surely, Elias too was among the Messengers. 123 When he said to his people: "Will you not be mindful of God? 124 Do you call upon Ba'l and leave the best of creators - 125 God, your Lord, and the Lord of your fathers?" 126 But they denounced him as a liar, so they will surely be arraigned (for punishment), 127 But not the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 128 and We left for him among the later folk 129 Peace be on Elias. 130 Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 131 He is truly among Our faithful devotees. 132 And Lot too was one of the Messengers. 133 [and so,] when [We decreed the doom of his sinful town,] We saved him and his household, 134 Save an old woman among the lingerers. 135 Then We destroyed the rest [i.e. the towns of Sodom at the place of the Dead Sea (now) in Palestine]. [See the "Book of History" by Ibn Kathir]. 136 and, verily, [to this day] you pass by the remnants of their dwellings at morning-time 137 And at night; do you not then understand? 138
