(Muhammad) say, "I am only a warner. The only Lord is God, the Almighty. 65 "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, the All-Mighty, the Oft-Forgiving." 66 Say, “That is a great tidings.” 67 (And) you are turning aside from it: 68 [Say, O Muhammad:] "No knowledge would I have had of [what passed among] the host on high when they argued [against the creation of man,] 69 This alone is revealed to me, I am only a clear warner' 70 Behold, thy Lord said to the angels: "I am about to create man from clay: 71 and when I have formed him fully and breathed into him of My spirit, fall you down before him in prostration!" 72 Then the angels bowed before him in a body, 73 Saving Iblis; he was scornful and became one of the disbelievers. 74 (Allah) said: "O Iblis! What prevents thee from prostrating thyself to one whom I have created with my hands? Art thou haughty? Or art thou one of the high (and mighty) ones?" 75 Said he, 'I am better than he; Thou createdst me of fire, and him Thou createdst of clay.' 76 (God) said: "Then go hence, ostracised. 77 And surely My curse is on you to the day of judgment. 78 (Iblis) said: "O my Lord! Give me then respite till the Day the (dead) are raised." 79 Said Allah, “You are therefore among those given respite.” 80 "Till the Day of the Time Appointed." 81 Said he, 'Now, by Thy glory, I shall pervert them all together, 82 Except, among them, Your chosen servants." 83 He (Allah) said: 'This is the truth, and I speak the truth: 84 Most certainly will I fill hell with thee and such of them as shall follow thee, all together!" 85 SAY [O Prophet]: "No reward whatever do I ask of you for this [message]; and I am not one of those who claim to be what they are not. 86 This [divine writ,] behold, is no less than a reminder to all the worlds — 87 "And ye shall certainly know the truth of it (all) after a while." 88
