Whatever misfortune happens to you, is because on the things your hands have wrought, and for many (of them) He grants forgiveness. 30 You are not able to frustrate Him in the earth; and, apart from God, you have neither protector nor helper. 31 And among His Signs are the ships, in the sea, like mountains. 32 Had He wanted, He could have stopped the wind and let the ships remain motionless on the surface of the sea, in this there is evidence (of the Truth) for all those who are patient and grateful, 33 Or He can ruin them due to peoples’ sins and He can forgive a great deal. 34 And those who dispute (polytheists, etc. with Our Messenger Muhammad SAW) as regards Our Ayat (proofs, signs, verses, etc. of Islamic Monotheism) may know that there is no place of refuge for them (from Allah's punishment). 35 That which has been given to you is only the wherewithal of the transient life of this world. But that which is with Allah is better and more enduring for those who believe and put their trust in their Lord; 36 And those who shun the worst of sins and indecencies and, when they are wroth, forgive, 37 those who answer their Lord, establish the prayers, and their affairs are by consultation; who spend of that which We have given them, 38 And those who, when they are oppressed vindicate themselves. 39 The recompense for an injury is an injury equal thereto (in degree): but if a person forgives and makes reconciliation, his reward is due from Allah: for (Allah) loveth not those who do wrong. 40 And whoever avenges himself after having been wronged - those have not upon them any cause [for blame]. 41 The blame is only against those who oppress men and wrong-doing and insolently transgress beyond bounds through the land, defying right and justice: for such there will be a penalty grievous. 42 And verily whoso is patient and forgiveth - lo! that, verily, is (of) the steadfast heart of things. 43
