Q (Qaaf)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Qaf. By the glorious Koran! 1 But nay - they deem it strange that a warner should have come unto them from their own midst; and so these deniers of the truth are saying, "A strange thing is this! 2 What, when we are dead and turned to dust? That indeed would be an unlikely return' 3 Surely We know that which the earth consumeth of them, and with Us is a Book preserved. 4 Aye! they belie the truth when it cometh unto them; wherefore they are in an affair confused. 5 Have they not observed the sky above them and marked how We have built it and adorned it, leaving no flaws in it; 6 (Have they not seen) how We have spread out the earth, placed on it firm mountains and have made all kinds of flourishing pairs of plants grow? 7 for an insight and a reminder to every penitent servant. 8 And We sent down the auspicious water from the sky, therefore producing gardens with it, and the grain that is harvested. 9 and tall palm-trees with clusters of dates 10 as sustenance apportioned to men; and by [all] this We bring dead land to life: [and] even so will be [man's] coming-forth from death. 11 Before them was denied (the Hereafter) by the People of Noah, the Companions of the Rass, the Thamud, 12 As did the people of 'Ad and Pharaoh and the brethren of Lot, 13 the dwellers of the Thicket and the nation of Tubba', all belied their Messengers, therefore My threat was realized. 14 Did We fail in the first creation? But they are in confusion over a new creation. 15
